Athena Genealogy specializes in genealogical research for individuals with European heritage. From uncovering family history to supporting EU citizenship by descent and probate cases, our work is built on careful research, documented evidence, and a personal approach.

Born to a Turkish father and a German-Silesian mother, it felt only natural to explore my mixed heritage.
My passion for genealogy began in 2011, thanks to my great-grandfather. He shared vivid stories from his wartime experiences, but couldn't answer my questions about his own parents.
He handed me an old photo. That one moment sparked a 13-year journey through archives, church books, and family lore.
Today, my family tree spans over 7,000 individuals. Many branches trace back to the 1600s and I even uncovered a direct link to a historic German noble family.
If you're interested in German citizenship by descent, I know firsthand what it takes to reconstruct the proof through records and ancestral evidence. Your story could be next.

Whitney knew her grandmother Uta came from a noble family - the von Oertzen - with roots traceable to Thidericus de Oerdessen in 1260. Uta was born in Berlin in 1935 and moved to the United States with her mother in 1948. Her mother naturalized two years later, but Uta automatically received U.S. citizenship without having to renounce her German one.
